About DeAnna
I am a Bermudian artist and designer. I began training as a Goldsmith in Bermuda from the age of seventeen, prior to studying Architecture at Central Saint Martins, London. My studies in architecture further influenced my approach to design, experimenting with the overlap in scale and context of 3D design. I then went on to complete an MA Jewellery at The Cass, London, where I was able to draw on my multi-disciplinary background and skill set. I launched my own Jewellery brand in 2011, alongside working for a number of other jewellery brands in London, gaining invaluable industry insight and experience. In 2012 & 2013 I was awarded the prestigious Goldsmith’s Company New Designers Award & the IJL Kickstart Award which allowed my brand to expand internationally. You can view some of my jewellery collections here, in Design.
I live in the beautiful Cotswold countryside, balancing busy family life with my creative practice. The challenges of 2020 have brought a new focus to my work. The inability to travel back to my island home has been the impetus for this new collection of paintings which are predominantly influenced by Bermuda’s colourful scenery. Working with acrylic on canvas, I explore Bermuda’s vibrant island life, through its architecture, pink sand beaches and flora & fauna.
